KRIA

Kumaraguru Research and Innovation Alliance (KRIA) has an objective to impact industry and society through innovative research. It intends to have participatory research from industry, academia, and society for innovative solutions that are sustainable and beneficial to society. The legacy of our founder Dr. N. Mahalingam as a researcher, intellectual, and inspired person with a creative mindset, inspired the conception of KRIA.

Background

Universities and colleges continue to play a critical role in providing the necessary research and a skilled workforce to help communities recover from the crisis. Working with industry is more critical than ever in times of crisis, both in rebuilding the economy and reskilling the workforce. Scientific invention and cultural exploration have been associated with higher education for hundreds of years.
The current budget (2022-2023) of the Government of India (GoI) focuses on public-private partnerships anchored by academic institutions to support India’s growth through research and development. The GoI discussion in March 2022 focused on the interaction between academia and industry through funding organizations; The primary outcome is to create the roadmap for the next 10 years that could help INDIA take a leap forward.
